Southern Therapeutic Services, LLC is excited to offer The Children's Center.  Donna W. Wimberly, MSW, LCSW utilizes one of the few separate and child friendly therapeutic settings in the area. 

Many children are hesitant to go to a strange location for the first time.  Therefore, The Children's Center is designed to allow children of all ages to feel comfortable while allowing them to benefit from the process of counseling/therapy.  The Children's Center also provides parents with the security of knowing their child is in a safe and fun environment while at Southern Therapeutic Services, LLC.

It is common for children to act out and/or have trouble at school when they are struggling with life's changes.  Studies show therapy can quickly help children to adjust and cope with struggles which can improve behavior and school performance.  I look forward to working with you and your child during difficult times.
 

Many children have trouble with hyperactivity and inattentiveness which may be a result of ADHD.  Southern Therapeutic Services, LLC offers assessments/evaluations in order to determine if a child has ADHD.

If a child is diagnosed with ADHD, a plan is developed (often with myself and the child's physician) in order to treat the child and assist them (and their family) in living with ADHD.

Southern Therapeutic Services, LLC continues to offer Social Skills Training for girls age 7-13.  Sessions are offered at various times.  The Social Skills Training Session teaches girls how to better communicate with friends, parents, and siblings.  This training can also improve the self-esteem of these children.  This program can be extremely beneficial and can help your daughter at home and at school.  Email or call if you are interested or would like to learn more.   

Southern Therapeutic Services, LLC also continues to offer Self-Esteem Booster sessions for teens and children age 7 and up.  Children often struggle with self-esteem and may be worsened by bullying at school.  If you feel your child has low self-esteem or would just like your child to have higher self-esteem, the Booster sessions could be very helpful.  These sessions are offered in our office and are confidential.  Email or call if you are interested or would like to learn more.
